TIGARD, Ore. -- This year’s Street of Dreams in Tigard has already had a sale go through, along with the flood of visitors.
The Chateau Marseille is one of several homes showcased in the annual event. It has a secret room and wireless controls for everything from the TV, to lighting and security.
The Chateau Marseille is controlled by an iPad, it’s the best home-automated system that we have,” beamed Scott Paskill of the Arbor Real Estate Group.
The other four homes in the tour are also for sale but the Marseille is already off the market.
“We sold the home in two weeks and we were very happy about that, so the response has been terrific,” Paskill said.
Paskill added that he also believes this is a sign of an improving market. He said there are fewer new homes for sale these days, as the demand has begun to grow.
The number of visitors at this year’s Street of Dreams has been higher than expected, with more than 40,000 people passing through the mansions over the last three weeks.
“I think it shows that people are excited about where things are,” Paskill said. “Homes are selling, people are buying and happy to be back into an economy that is improving.”
